Challenging in-home strength training for women in metro-south Boston with senior certified Personal Trainer Patricia Yanikoski.

Perhaps you're thinking 'My body is changing and I need to do something in order to be fit and healthy so maybe I will look into personal training.' Does this happen every year and result in either no action or a gym program not tailored to you?

My message to you is: don't hesitate! Allow me to guide you toward your fitness goals now. So many of my clients have told me that they wish they hadn't waited.

I would love to work with you and the process begins with a call or email from you. I will do my best to answer your questions about what our workouts will do for you and address any hesitation on your part to initiating your fitness journey.

Pair my fitness expertise and motivation skills with your fitness goals and busy schedule. Right in the privacy of your own home!

I’ve trained scores of women over the past 12 years, mostly ranging between 45 and 75 years old, to help them get into better shape, to live life stronger, or simply to revitalize their current routine. I primarily service Stoughton, Canton, Sharon and Easton, MA, but I travel to surrounding towns as well and also select locations in RI.

Rates are reasonable and results are right around the corner. Call 781-856-0590 or email me at pat@trainher.com today to set up an appointment. I'll see you at home!

Pre-Training Fitness Consultation

After introducing myself to you on the phone and learning a little about you, we’ll arrange a meeting to discuss your goals and your current fitness level. Normally, this takes about an hour. I like to do this in your home or wherever it is that you want to work out. Here's what we'll do:

  1. We'll talk about your fitness goals. These are unique to each person. Do you want to lose weight? Are you trying to develop better muscle tone or maintain bone density? Are you trying to live a more active life, perhaps keeping up with grandchildren? All these questions will help determine the proper training regimen for you.
  2. We'll discuss your current health status. If you have any special health considerations, I'll need to know that, so that I can develop an appropriate workout plan that accomodates your unique issues. I'll need to know if you have a history of medical conditions such as heart attack or stroke, if you are diabetic, if you have any joint issues, etc. Depending on your condition, I may ask you to obtain a clearance from your physician before we proceed, but normally this is not required.
  3. I'll look at your workout space and any exercise equipment that you may have. You don't need a dedicated fitness room! Often a corner of the basement or the family room is perfect for simple workouts. If you have a treadmill, elliptical, or other fitness machine, I'll discuss how to incorporate it into your workout plan.
  4. I'll teach you your first new exercise. Something to keep you motivated until our first session!
  5. We'll discuss the potential for accidents or injury and you'll be asked to sign a waiver of liability.
  6. COST: The cost of this service is $30. This fee is waived if you pre-purchase a minimum of 4 hours of personal training. See my Introductory Special to waive this fee with just a 2-hour training purchase.

Women's In-Home Personal Training

I will come to your home and show you how to exercise effectively, motivate you to better performance, guide you on proper technique, and generally steer you toward more healthy living, all towards achieving the personal goals you set in your pre-training evaluation. Here are some of the things we'll do in 60 minutes:

  1. I prepare each session individually in advance, so we're "ready to go" as soon as I arrive at your door. I'll show you how to properly stretch and warm-up, then we'll get right into the session.
  2. I'll show you how exercise done "right" can be fun and not boring! By choosing exercises that are appropriate to your actual physical condition, I'll teach you things you CAN do and that won't overwhelm you. You'll really feel like you accomplished something good!
  3. I'll show you how to vary your workout so that you won't strain yourself and you'll feel more energetic.
  4. Using dumbbells, a weighted ball, a floor mat, a stability ball, reistance tubing, and other small portable devices, I'll show you how you can become more toned without investing in expensive bulky machines. Many exercises don't require any equipment at all. I will bring everything you need for the session and will instruct you on how to obtain these implements for your between-session workouts.
  5. At the end of each session, you'll do an appropriate cool-down and stretch.
  6. I will monitor your progress from session to session and record your activity. These records are kept confidential.
  7. I will assess your need for ongoing training sessions. The maximum benefit is with twice-a-week sessions, but if your budget cannot support this, we'll make a plan for weekly, bi-weekly or other periodic sessions that fit your needs.
  8. COST: The regular cost is $65 per 1-hour session. There is no travel charge for clients in Canton, Stoughton, Sharon, or Easton - please inquire about other locales. See my Introductory Special for a low $49 training rate!

HOURS: Are you an early riser? I will gladly work with you before your work day begins. I can be at your house as early as 6:00 a.m., or anytime during the day, Monday through Friday, subject to prior scheduling. The last session of the day starts at 7:00 pm. Saturday start times are 8:00 am through 1:00 pm. Sundays and holidays are by special arrangement only.

PAYMENT: I accept cash or checks only. I encourage clients to pre-purchase & schedule at least 4 sessions at a time so that we get you into a rhythm, but you may book as much or as little as you like. And there are no contracts.

About Pat

My name is Patricia Yanikoski. I'm 64 years old and feel better now than I did when I was 44!

In-home personal training for women: I really enjoy working with women who want to improve themselves. It doesn't matter to me if you are young or old, overweight or trim, outgoing or shy. All that matters to me is that you have a desire to become more physically fit.

Online fitness training via FaceBook: Starting in the summer of 2018, I have been creating exercise-related instructional videos for my new FaceBook page. Check it out!

Education & certification: I was certified as a Personal Trainer in 2005 by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) which is nationally recognized. I am certified as a Functional Aging Specialist by the Functional Aging Institute (FAI) and am certified in CPR by the American Red Cross. I have earned CEUs in core training, TRX suspension training, diet and nutrition. Earlier, I earned a BS in biology from Stonehill College and was a Medical Technologist for several years.

Fitness work history: Prior to starting Trainher in 2007, I was a part time personal trainer and staffer at a local women’s gym in Stoughton, where I worked with women both individually and in group classes. Now I’m doing in-home training full time.

Personal fitness history: 25 years ago I was mainly a runner, having done the New Bedford half marathon and numerous 5mile and 10k road races. For the past 15 years or so, I primarily work out either in my home or outdoors, alternating between cardio and strength workouts.

Professional goal: I want to work with women who want to feel & look better but don't necessarily feel comfortable going to a gym, or who just prefer more privacy & convenience. You can "be yourself" with me and I'll help you become someone new!

FAQs

Here are some frequently-asked questions: If you don’t see the question that is on your mind, then click on the email link at the bottom of the page and ask me!

How does it work? How do we get started? The first thing is to give me a call or drop me an email so we can get acquainted and chat about your goals for a few minutes. I’ll answer any questions that you have and normally I’ll set up a meeting with you to do your Pre-Training Fitness Consultation in person, which takes less than an hour. Then, if you’re ready for the challenge, I’ll schedule your first session.

Can you help me lose weight? Sure! Balanced nutrition and proper exercise will help you become stronger and boost your metabolism, which will help you lose extra pounds at the same time. My services are primarily strength training, however, so if you are overweight then I will discuss whether you may need consent from your physician before proceeding.

Can I train at your home instead of mine? No, I do not use my own home for training clients. My home studio is used for recording my FaceBook posts and doing my personal workouts.

How often should I work out with you? It really depends on your goals and your budget. Most people work out with me once per week at a regular day and time that fits their schedule best. Two to three strength training sessions per week is the most effective if you want to make good progress.

How much is it? Each session lasts one hour and is normally $65, but with my Introductory Special you pay only $49 per session for the first two sessions! (Travel fees may be added for distant clients - please inquire.)

Do I need to sign a contract or pay membership fees? No! You can add more sessions at your own pace.

Do I have to pay in advance? Yes. Most clients purchase 2 or more sessions at a time, but payment at the start of each session is OK, too.

How do I pay? You can pay with cash or check. I do not accept credit card payments.

What if I have to cancel - do I still get charged? If you cancel at least 12 hours in advance, there is no charge for your allotted time. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance, then you will be charged for the session, except for emergencies or sudden illness which will be taken into consideration.

Reviews

Kerrie, Wrentham, August 2012: Pat is a fantastic trainer. She is motivating, enthusiastic and encouraging. I have trained with her for a few years now and have found strength I never thought possible for myself. With Pat's challenging workouts I am never bored. I don't know how she does it, but I have never had the same workout twice! I am always challenged, yet never defeated. Her workouts continuously push you past your comfort zone, yet are achievable at the same time, leaving you with a sense of accomplishment. Pat is always attentive and a stickler on proper form, therefore injury has never been a worry as it can be with gyms and other trainers. Pat has taught me so many things about exercise and the balance and importance of it all in everyday life. I have the utmost confidence in Pat and look forward to a healthy and strong training future with all the invaluable lessons she has taught me. Thank you Pat!

Karen, Sharon, February 2011: Absolutely AMAZING TIME. You truly trained me well. I felt stronger than I ever have skiing. How cool is that at 50? Thank you sooooooo much.

Ann, Brockton, October 2010: Thank you for your great training session. It felt good afterwards and I had tons of energy later in the evening. Look forward to our next class. Thanks.
